Grilled Cheese
Easy and comforting melted cheese sandwich.
- Sliced bread, not too thick
- Sliced cheese, or a mix, with at least one being a melting cheese
- Salty butter, or thinly spread mayonnaise
- Options: Mustard, deli meats, pickles, hot peppers, onion, jams, etc. Spread on bread or between slices of cheese.
- Serving suggestion: Tomato soup, cornichons
Optionally butter and toast the inside of each slice on a pan. Add cheese, close the sandwich, and butter/toast each side until golden brown. Add gentle pressure and keep the heat low enough so that the inside is melted when done.
